Celeste is an artist duo based in Mexico City interested in creating a dialogue with space. The experimental nature of their painterly work manifests itself through mobile textile installations suspended freely in spaces of presentation, dynamic interactions with different spatial circumstances and even weather conditions.

“The work Obra Parasol I was presented at Studio Block M74, Mexico City in the spring of 2021. As a result of our residency in the space we created Obra Parasol and installed it on the roof of the building, which offers beautiful views of the city, but is difficult to enjoy during the day due to the intense sun exposure. This was an excuse to ‘open a space’ and to place our piece in such a way that it would allow us to gather underneath and enjoy that roof regardless of the weather. We made a temporary shelter that served as a meeting point for the residents of Studio Block M74 and now we’re looking to host it at other venues.”

Their work has been presented at Salón Cosa in Mexico City, 2021; Galería Guadalajara 90210 in Mexico City, 2021 and the Zapopan Art Museum in 2020, among others.
